1. Solar Electricity Systems

Solar Panels

Solar panel/module is the heart of any solar electric (PV) system. It has been designed in such a way that when hit by sunlight, it generates electricity.

Solar Batteries (Electrical Energy Tank)

While solar module generates electricity when hit by sunlight, it cannot store it itself. Thus, it is the batteries that receive and store electricity generated by solar module (panel) for later use (at night or during cloudy days). 

We stock brands of different technologies of both wet and sealed batteries. However, our most popular brands are Deka & Victron (for AGM and Gel types brands) and Surrette (for wet types).

Solar Regulator

Solar Module is not equipped with a mechanism to detect if the battery is full and, neither is the battery set to reject electricity from the module when it is full. The two problems are taken care of by a device known as solar regulator. This is a device which protects the battery from being overcharged by solar module and under-discharged by electrical load. It is also used as the monitoring device for the system to the end user.

The popular brands of solar regulators we stock are from Morningstar of USA and other brands are from Steca and Phocos of Germany.

Solar Inverters

Electricity used in homes and at working places is of alternating current (ac) type while solar module generates direct current (dc) electricity. Thus, solar batteries store and supply dc type electricity. For dc type electricity to be converted to ac type, a device known as inverter is required. Inverters are electronic devices designed to change dc electricity into ac electricity in standard voltages and frequencies so that they can be used to run ac electrical loads.

ENSOL (T) Ltd stocks and sells compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) with a life span of more than 8000hrs as well as LED lamps with a life span of more than 100,000hrs from Phocos of Germany.  Another available brand is Magnaray which is used in Solar Street Lighting Systems.

2. Battery Backup Systems

Home and office equipments and appliances such as computers, faxes, lights, e-mail, telephones, refrigerators, televisions, etc, perform well and stay secure when power supply is continuous and dependable. This is normally assured by reliable battery backup systems.

 The backup systems are set in such a way that when grid power cuts off, they automatically switch on to keep supplying electricity for hours depending on the system capacity and on the size of battery bank and load.
